"I
agree to follow the instructions and to complete the
tutorial."
Follow
the instructions means:
Reading the
following two required topics.
Creating agreements that work
(more).
Accurate appropriate acknowledgments
(more).
Although you may initially choose one or more
optional topics you are not required to complete them.
Sending
feedback when prompted.
Sometimes you will
be prompted to share your thoughts with the
Tutorial Coach on the password protected Teacher's Tutorial Message
Board.
You
are
agreeing to send feedback within 72 hours* (Post a Reply) each time
you are requested to do so, usually at the end of
a key paragraph, a topic, or when you decide to stop a
session for the day. A feedback message can be as short as,
"I'm doing fine." or, "I hate
this." or, "Will get back to you no later
than Monday."
Complete the tutorial means:
Read all the pages and send feedback when
prompted. It takes between 5
- 15 minutes to read each topic, such as
Creating agreements that work. The pages, content-wise, are pretty
much the same size they have been up to this
page.
The
entire tutorial takes approximately 4 hours.
This includes the time it takes to compose and
send feedback. You
can stop and come back as many times as you wish
to complete the tutorial.
We do not notify
anyone of any aspect of your participation.
Important:
If you are currently in therapy, please inform your
counselor/therapist that you are participating in a
leadership-communication-skills education program.
Please do not do the
tutorial with someone looking over your shoulder. Talking with
another (especially a teacher with failing students), discussing
it, while you do the tutorial changes the education process
from experiential to conceptual. Part of what causes
a problem to persist is that communication has
become conceptualized.
English must be your
first language (native tongue), or, you must have considerable peer
agreement that you are as fluent in English as you are in your
native tongue. The tutorial uses some words that are not commonly
used in university speech-communication courses, consequently this
can present a comprehension challenge even for
fluent America English speaking educators.
* We are agreeing
to reply to each other within 72 hours. If this is not possible then let the
other know by when (NLT — not later than) they can expect a reply.
This has to do with control, supporting each other in being
complete, not waiting, wondering, etc.
