About Circumcision: The pleasures of a foreskin

This tip (pun intended) is for couples who will have to make a decision—whether,  or not, to circumcise their baby boy.  It addresses a point of view not commonly discussed in articles about the pros and cons (medical, religious, and cultural) of circumcision.

Up front: This tip supports parents in allowing their boy to have a foreskin until he is of an age when he can freely choose. A friend of mine, while on a Navy ship in the Mediterranean sea, with only local anesthesia, had the ship's doctor do the operation; he proudly reported that he didn't cry or scream.

I've yet to hear of a baby boy (some even when medicated) who didn't cry (or scream) when someone cut the tip off of his penis (always for good and reasonable reasons).* To say/think that a baby doesn't experience pain is self-righteous ignorance; pinch a baby and he cries. Abuse is abuse no matter the reason.

Men (including doctors) who have been circumcised have no experience that a foreskin enhances sensations, all they know is what it's like to be circumcised. It's not that doctors have not heard about the benefits of having a foreskin, it's that they ignore it and charge you $300+ for the one-minute snip.

Women, not being able to experience the difference, have no idea that to cut the tip off of a boy's penis rips off (whoops, another intended pun) the boy for life.**

I don't believe any woman would submit their baby boy to the horror of such an operation except that a male without a foreskin assured her that it was "best" for the child; yet, the very same woman would never sanction female genital mutilation ("circumcisions") for women.  Mothers are supposed to protect their children from abuses.

Circumcisions began hundreds of years ago when men seldom bathed and didn't have our soaps, back when inflammations and STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) were common.

Women who have had just one sex partner—one who had been circumcised—can't know the differences in sensations between circumcised and uncircumcised men.*** A woman who has had intercourse with both circumcised and uncircumcised men knows the benefits of having a foreskin are experienced during masturbation and foreplay. Couples who often masturbate each other discover these pleasures.

I'm referring to the fact that a foreskin can be pulled back to completely uncover the head of the penis; done very slowly the man experiences several sensations, some from the subtle temperature differences (whether wet or dry). Done repeatedly (again, very slowly) a man can, while breathing consciously, allow these sensations to gather through to climax, or, he can surrender to his partner's teasing creations.

Men who are circumcised are able to experience the temperature differences when they masturbate; they lubricate the head and move the finger around the head so as to cause temp differences. This is much like when you first get out of a swimming pool—the air temp is usually higher/lower than the temp of the skin. However, men who have a foreskin can do both tricks—they can keep the foreskin pulled back and tease the head of the penis (wet/dry) or, they can slowly uncover and re-cover the head of their penis to generate sensations. Pulling back the foreskin creates sensations all around the head simultaneously.

* Proponents of circumcision often mention hygiene and the fact that a foreskin can harbor smegma (a smelly cheese-like substance). These nay-sayers don't mention that men with a foreskin have been taught by their parents to clean their penis, how to scrub it, how to pull back the foreskin so as to stretch both the head and the skin, thereby exposing (flattening) the pores for cleaning. It becomes a natural and routine hygiene habit. Circumcised men in combat go for weeks without taking a shower, virtually none report penis problems. Men with foreskins know, with absolute certainty, that a single incidence of a smelly penis can cause a woman to resist/avoid oral sex, often for the entire relationship. Men with foreskins assume that women have heard the "smelly" rumors and so these men are definitely more hygienically motivated. Homosexuals seldom have such a problem, they both simply know. Here's this same article with a few hygiene tips.

** Here's some research articles about circumcision: Five ways circumcision affects the rest of your life Male circumcision decreases penile sensitivity . . .   Behaviors affected by circumcision. Note: There are also many articles (via Google) that support circumcision.

*** Some women report that the head of a circumcised penis is less sensitive, that it can take longer to bring a circumcised man to a climax via oral stimulation. This can be explained by the fact that the head of the penis of a man without a foreskin has been continually rubbing against clothing for the man's entire life—thereby somewhat desensitizing the head.
