I have lied. I am not lying now (this very second) therefore I am not a liar.
I have stolen things. I am not stealing now (this very second) therefore I am not a thief.
I have abused. I am not abusing now, however, I have been addicted to abuse, to abusing and to setting it up for others to abuse me.

In other words, calling yourself a liar, a thief, or an abuser, because you have done such things in the past are lies, and although they are unconscious lies they still have undesirable consequences. It's important to be in present-time.

It doesn't work to make oneself wrong for results produce. All results were absolutely necessary to get you to this place, here and now, en route on your path to enlightenment.
